If you’ve been following my Instagram feed, you’d know that I recently took my daughter to the movies for the first time. It was priceless to see her disbelief that the movie screen was bigger than our car. She was thrilled with the whole experience and, almost two weeks later, is still talking about it. So now I’m on the hunt to find another movie that we can watch together. See, I have a rather low threshold for watching movies. Whereas my husband will watch almost anything – the idea of sitting through all those adds, and then a movie I don’t actually want to watch… I’m not so keen. Hence why it’s taken us a while to get to the movies!

However, I absolutely loved Pete’s Dragon, a remake on the 1977 version. So it’s occurred to me – maybe there’s something in that? Take a beloved story, and rejig it for today? That’s where today’s movie comes in – Robinson Crusoe: The Wildlife, which is in cinemas 29-30 October & 5-6 November (two weekends only). This movie takes the Robinson Crusoe story and gives it a twist, telling it from the animal’s perspective.

Robinson Crusoe The Wild Life

On a tiny exotic island an outgoing parrot, Tuesday, can’t stop dreaming about discovering the world. After a strong storm, Tuesday and his friends wake up to find a strange creature on the beach: Robinson Crusoe. Tuesday immediately sees Crusoe as his ticket off the island to explore new lands. Likewise, Crusoe soon realises the key to surviving on the island is through the help of Tuesday and the other animals.

This is a movie that looks like it’s going to have enough laughs for both children and adults, and one that I’ll be taking both my children to.

We have four double passes to give away for the movie. For your chance to win a double movie pass to Robinson Crusoe: The Wild Life, you need to tag a friend you’d like to take with you on the Facebook post for this competition, and I’ll send a pass to both you and them! And make sure the person doing the tagging follows my Facebook page!

Competition closes Sunday 23rd October, 9pm AEST. I will contact the winners prior to notifying everyone else. Competition has closed.
