It’s all getting a little bit exciting and there may have even been happy dances involved. The cabinetry has gone in and my husband is doing a really good job of faking that he’s as excited as I am (in the same way that I feigned enthusiasm when the water and septic tanks were installed).

Our bathroom might still be missing a toilet – but it’s finally starting to look like a bathroom!

We snuck a peak on the way home this afternoon and the glass splashback had been installed. It was awesome to be able to see the view in the reflection on the glass. Yes… we could’ve got a mirrored splashback but seriously, who’d want to clean that?

We’ve been a little lazy in the garden so haven’t used up the hay bales yet, but the kids are loving playing on them!

Can’t sign off without marvelling at the orchard. Everything has begun to bloom. So pretty!

We even got a fig! Of course I’ve pulled it off so all of the plant’s energy goes into developing  strong tree. I can’t wait for another three to five years when the trees are fully established and spread across the wires.

And the view… Isn’t it magical?

It is a beautiful part of the world. The house is coming along well. Of course we notice a heap of faults – but hopefully we’ll be the only ones to notice them!

On the weekend we must’ve sat for about an hour, just watching the birds swooping and flying, catching bugs in the grass. Time stands still. It is just amazing. And yes – can’t wait for the orchard to be established. Maybe another year or so…

Do you think we should plant a tree on the island? That’s the topic for debate at the moment.

Your home is going to be sensational, no doubt about it. I love what the bathroom is shaping up to be. Oh the glorious space you have! x

I hope it feels spacious! It all looks a little smaller than I’d imagined. But I’ve been told it will feel bigger with furniture… but I’m not so sure… But it will be nice for the kids to have their own rooms!

Oh how exciting! We found a beautiful rural block to lust after, and this makes me want to buy it even more! There’s something special about living that way isn’t there?

It’s been such a long journey. Two years now and we’re only just about to move into our own place. My goodness, there have been many hurdles which almost broke us. But then I think the truly great things in life only come after some truly great struggles… Maybe that’s so we appreciate them…

Oh that looks exciting. How long until it’s finished? I’d love to live on acerage of some kind, but at the same time never want to leave the beach and I also work in the middle of the city…so I’m torn!

We have a tentative date of December 18th. Fingers crossed! We only got a lease extension until then so we’ll be camping out in the back paddock if it isn’t finished by then!
