Ok Sydney families. This post is for you. Kidtopia is a festival specially curated for children aged 5-12years and, luckily for us, the adults are allowed to come along! Cory Watson, Head of Parenting at Fairfax Events says Kidtopia will provide “a vast array of fun and educational activities and entertainment, wrapped up in a festival vibe that the whole family can enjoy.”
If you think that you’re children need a lesson in how to dance, strut your stuff and show them how it’s done at the disco where you can dance along to live music. Or maybe they have their own rhythm? Bring out their inner drummer and let them jam away in their own style.
Too much energy? Tire them out by letting them learn circus tricks, or calm them down with some yoga. The choice is theirs. Or maybe yours? Then there is the Qantas Assure Arena which has giant a foosball table and mini putt-putt course, or perhaps they’d like to try their skills on the adrenaline rush obstacle course!
I know my children would be making a bee line for the science workshops, because who doesn’t love a good opportunity to blow something up?
And when the sun sets, but you’re not ready to end the fun, check out the open-air cinema.
If you want to know more, check out their website. The list of activities at this festival is endless. Not to mention the food… Did someone say burrito? Sliders? From food trucks to ice-cream vans, Kidtopia has a variety of options to choose from. Sure to please the fussiest of eaters!
When: 7-9 October, 2016
Where: Cattle Paddocks, Parramatta Park, NSW
What does it cost? Adults $15; Children 5-17yrs $10; Under 4s are free!
(These prices are if you purchase ahead. If you buy at the door, the cost will go up.)
The lovely folks over at Kidtopia are giving away a family pass. All you need to do to enter, is tag someone in the Facebook comments for this post who you think would love to take their family to this festival. The winner will be randomly drawn from all those who enter, with the competition closing on Wednesday 21st September, 9pm (AEST).
